I have a high volume industrial floor fan that has gone down right when it's getting hot. It has a CBB61 7uF 250vac motor start capacitor. I can't seem to find a 7uf cap anywhere. I can find 6uf and 8uf. My question is can I use a different cap that the one installed originally. This is a simple set up, 2 wires and one capacitance. Attached is a picture of the cap that is installed now. When power is applied, you can hear buzzing or a hum but no movement. Thanx in advance.

Hello jpr9845,

Have you tried checking the fan's coil winding resistance? Try to check that first if there is no short/open circuit. For it's starting capacitor, you could use a value nearer to the original 7uF value, try searching for a 6.8uF cap. but if there is none available, you could try using the 6uF one. but mind the Voltage. Be sure to use 250VAC or GREATER value for the capacitor's voltage rating.
